REGARDLESS OF WHAT THE SELLER IS STATING AND TELLING YOU ON THEIR eBay, AMAZON, Craigslist OR ANY INTERNET WEBSITE, THE FACTS ARE VERY CLEAR: IF YOU PURCHASE A KNOCKOFF (FAKE) RAVELCO ON ANY OF THESE ABOVE WEBSITES THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY, NO SUPPORT OF ANY KIND AND YOU CANNOT GET EXTRA PLUGS FOR YOUR RAVELCO.

NO SELLER ON THESE WEBSITES IS AN AUTHORIZED OR CERTIFIED RAVELCO DISTRIBUTOR, DEALER OR SALES PARTNER.

BE ESPECIALLY AWARE OF RAVELCOS BEING SOLD on eBay, Amazon, Craigslist OR ANY OTHER INTERNET WEBSITE FROM OTHER COUNTRIES. THESE ARE FAKE KNOCK OFF RAVELCOS . . . They WILL TELL YOU THAT THESE ARE THE REAL DEAL (ORIGINALS) AGAIN WHAT THEY STATE IS NOT THE TRUTH. DON'T FALL VICTIM. A RAVELCO WITH NO WARRANTY TRANSLATES THAT THIS IS NOT A LEGITIMATE GENUINE RAVELCO.

Please beware of any one or any company selling a Ravelco whose name cannot be found on our RAVELCO DEALERS & DISTRIBUTORS PAGE. Only the distributors and dealers listed on that page are authorized and certified by RAVELCO and carry the genuine RAVELCO ANTI THEFT DEVICE.

Those listed distributors and dealers sales receipts are the only sales receipts which you can use to order extra RAVELCO replacement plugs. We will not make any one or any company extra RAVELCO replacement plugs whose name is not listed in our records or not listed on the RAVELCO DEALERS & DISTRIBUTORS PAGE. NO EXCEPTIONS!  

There are a few Internet sellers claiming to have the genuine RAVELCO Anti Theft Device which in fact are not. We at Ravelco, keep up with the latest installation instructions for every vehicle manufactured. Please do not fall prey to someone selling the Ravelco (genuine or knock-off) and stating that they have the generic installation instructions for the Ravelco. What they may have is something that they drafted or fabricated and printed up to sell you knock-off - look-alike Ravelcos. One of the reasons we give a lifetime guarantee with the Ravelco is because we have technicians who constantly work in harmony with the vehicle manufacturers acquiring information on which are the best and safest circuits to use.

If a RAVELCO is installed incorrectly or without our direction you are asking for problems. We guarantee the RAVELCO for life because we know that the RAVELCO is manufactured free from defects or any other problems that might occur. 

THE TWO MOST IMPORTANT FACTORS ARE:

1.) From the Ravelcos debut in July of 1976 until April of 1994 the Ravelco was manufactured with a different (than used today) female connector pin. Over time,  we at Ravelco learned that on the newer higher voltage of today's vehicles that some of these female connectors had opened up and failed. Learning this, in May of 1994 all the Ravelcos manufactured from then on were changed and fitted with a new improved female connector pin. Along with the new connector pin, Ravelco then issued a lifetime guarantee for all the new Ravelcos manufactured after April of 1994. At that time Ravelco tried to recall and switch out all the older manufactured Ravelco with its dealers. Of course many of these could not be found or returned. We at Ravelco believe that many of these are the older Ravelcos showing up on these auction sites at ridiculously reduced prices.

2.) In August and September of 2005, hurricanes and floods wiped out many auto dealers on the gulf coast of Texas. These auto dealers entire parts departments and their inventory were destroyed, this included many Ravelcos. We learned that a salvage company purchased many of these damaged units and tried to sell them as new. Watch out! You may be purchasing a salt water damaged Ravelco.

OTHER FACTORS ARE:

1.) No customer support - no extra plugs. You lose a plug and you must remove the unit. 

2.) No Warranty 

3.) Lack of proper installation instructions for your vehicle.

4.) If the Ravelco happens to be genuine, it most likely is the old technology (thinner wires, pins, etc.) - that were left over from a out of business auto dealership. These older Ravelco units will not work with the newer vehicles computer systems. Ravelco has been in business since 1976. Looking at the Ravelco unit from the outside it will look the exact same as they did back then when they first debuted.   

5.) Years ago a company in Mexico purchased many Ravelcos and tried to adapt them to an alarm system that they came up with. We have seen some of these units where the wires are stripped and soldered inside the cable and are no good.  

6.) Parts missing, etc.

eBay Legal Department:

Our attorneys have contacted eBay and warned them about the potential problems and problems in the past with the Ravelco being sold on their auction site by unauthorized sellers. eBay, being greedy has failed to comply and remove these sellers. 

Whenever we hear of a problem from someone who calls us and says "something is wrong with their vehicle" (such as their vehicle's check engine lights keeps coming on, etc.) it never ceases to amaze us that as soon as we ask "where did they purchase their Ravelco"  . . . we find out it was from an UNAUTHORIZED SELLER on eBay, Craigslist or some other internet auction site.

Occasionally, a Ravelco Anti Theft Device or knock-off (not made in the US even though it says it is) may show up on eBay, Amazon, Craigslist or some other Internet Website. Every one of our authorized and certified Ravelco distributors and dealers have in their contracts; that they cannot sell or list the RAVELCO uninstalled on eBay, Amazon, Craigslist or any type of other Internet Website.

Your safest bet, is to stay away and not purchase a Ravelco - (knock-off) online.

Remember:

1.) The bitterness of a bad deal remains long after the sweetness of a low price is forgotten!

2.) Only buy from an authorized and certified Ravelco Distributor or Dealer.
